.wav™ trademark.
The format is open. The marks are not. Apache 2. covers the spec and the reference reader; the wordmark and brand do not travel under that license.
Marks owned by ZeroWave
- "wav" wordmark, including the barred- glyph.
- ".wav" as a file format / extension reference in product surfaces.
- "ZeroWave" spelled out as a company / product name.
Allowed
- Reference the format by name: "reads .wav files," "produces .wav," "uses the open .wav reader."
- Implement and distribute the spec under Apache 2. without asking permission.
Not allowed without written consent
- Using the wordmark or barred- glyph in your own product UI, logo, or favicon.
- Implying endorsement, partnership, or certification by ZeroWave.
- Selling third-party SaaS branded as "wav-something".
